College Credit Plus “Basics” Grades 7-12 College-ready students Many college course options Public colleges (required to participate) are free Private colleges may participate, but some may include a small cost Cedarville University will be free including tuition, fees, and books!

College Credit Plus “Basics” Qualified public school students guaranteed funding Qualified private school students and homeschooled students are eligible to participate; allocation based on available funding Up to 30 hours per year; up to 120 hours total Bible (sectarian) courses excluded

Under what scenarios might a qualified student participate in College Credit Plus? Student wants to take college courses to satisfy high school graduation requirements Student has completed all high school graduation requirements and wants to begin college work Student wants to explore college and take a course in a subject that is of interest

AP, IB Course College Course Secondary School Considerations Weighted grades – College courses must be weighted the same as Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate in the same subject area 3-credit college course = 1-year high school course (1 Carnegie unit)

Secondary School Considerations Verify that students are not taking more than 30 credits per year; 120 credits total Calculation for determining eligibility: Determine student’s number of high school units Multiply that number x3 Subtract the result from 30 = Total number of college credits available through CCP
