4 What is College Credit Plus? CC+ Covers all dual credit programs High School and College Credit Free of charge to the student On campus, at the high school and on-line college credit only: under the self pay option

5 Who can participate in CC+? Students must be in grades 7 – 12 Students must file letter of intent with their school counselor by April 1 Students must meet the admission criteria and deadlines set by the college Students must be college ready

6 What Does CC+ Cover? CC+ students will have costs paid by the school district. Tuition Books (student may be required to return at the end of the term) Fees CC+ does not include: Transportation Optional fees may be charged based on campus location (example: gym membership)

7 What are the benefits of CC+? Free college credit – please thank your school district! Opportunity to enroll in classes not available at your school Exposure to college faculty/ college expectations College credit may transfer easily (especially between public institutions within Ohio) Credit is on high school and college transcript Still eligible for College Freshman Scholarships May have benefits for upper classmen (priority registration, housing)

8 What Are the Risks of CC+? College coursework is more rigorous than high school Impacts grade point average and possibly class rank Financial risk Student may need to limit involvement in sports, extra-curricular activities, employment

9 Who Should Participate in CC+? Students who have interests beyond what is available in school and are assessed as COLLEGE READY! Use CC+ to supplement your high school’s offerings Students who have the time, maturity and dedication to devote to college classes!

11 MTC Application Process Current Students: Complete Participation Form Only. Students will be accepted after they complete all admission criteria which includes: CCP Application Packet, no application fee CCP Participation form, with required signatures. School transcript (Good Academic Standing) Results of Nationally normed test (preferably the ACT or COMPASS) ACT Reading 20 or Compass Reading 80

12 Important Dates at MTC College Applications due May 1 st Registration begins March 14 for Summer and Fall Terms. Classes on campus begin June 6 for Summer and August 29 for Fall Students can obtain books at the College bookstore the week prior to the beginning of the tem Registration for Spring is November 2016 Spring classes begin early January 9, 2017

17 OSU CC+ Timeline February or April – Take ACT test (June scores will be too late) May 1 – Deadline to apply online for Autumn semester Rolling – notification of admission into the Academy Mid-June – invitation to on-campus orientation mailed to students Mid-July – on-campus orientation/ class scheduling August 23 – first day Autumn Semester

18 Scheduling Classes at OSU Marion Returning CCP students do not need to re-apply to OSU to continue the program Courses may not be offered at a time when you are available Courses may not have seats available Priority scheduling is based on students rank and enrollment in a degree seeking program Academy students do not have priority scheduling Courses may have specific pre-requisites such as prior courses or enrollment in a specific degree program.
