4 What is College Credit Plus
Ohio’s dual credit program: “College Ready” students in grades 7 through 12; Earn high school and college credit at the same time; Ohio residents; Enrolled in a public, private or home school; Student choice Tuition and books are covered by the State* * Exceptions apply keep listening.

5 What is College Ready? Statewide Eligibility Criteria
Course Placement Criteria College-readiness scores relevant to course/program requirements Other program-specific pre-requisites Institution of Higher Education Admissions Criteria Selective Institutional Criteria Open Enrollment Statewide Eligibility Criteria College-Ready Assessment Scores In at least one subject area Assessment scores below college-ready, but within one standard error of measurement and has a 3.0+ GPA or receives recommendation

6 What is College Ready? Remediation free in at least one area;
Readiness Area ACT SAT Taken since March 2016 Accuplacer Classic English Sub Score 18 Evidence-Based Reading & Writing 480 Sentence Skills 88 or 5 on Writeplacer Reading Sub Score 22 80 Mathematics Sub Score 530 From Uniform Statewide Standards for Remediation-Free Status, May Assessment thresholds to guarantee “remediation free” status at any public post-secondary institution in Ohio. Remediation free in at least one area; Meet admission requirements for the college/university to which they are applying; Students may still be required to take course placement assessments for these subject areas.

10 CCP & High School Requirements

11 High School Requirements
Graduation requirements cannot be waived. Students responsible for some high school assessments. CCP course can fulfill some of the high school assessment requirements. High School approves and confers your requirements/degree. Athletic Eligibility.

12 How are Grades Posted? College/University provides final grades to the school. High school posts course title, grade and institution on transcript. Earned grades are included in HS GPA/Rank. Weighting of grades.

13 Credit Hour Guidelines
Limit of 30 college credits per year, Maximum of 120 credits. Verify course choice and change with your school guidance counselor. Will not be able to attend beyond spring semester of senior year.

15 CCP Participation and Application Process

16 CCP State Requirements & Deadlines
Attend information session (school or college); Sign high/middle school document verifying counseling; Submit completed ‘Letter of Intent” by April 1st to your school; Apply to college(s) of your choice;

17 College/University Application Steps
1. Complete CCP application (online, paper). Allow up to two weeks for processing during peak times. 2. Submit official high/middle school transcripts. 3. Submit ACT/SAT test scores or Schedule a time to take Accuplacer assessment. 4. Submit additional forms as required by college/university.

18 Kent State Application Deadlines
April 1st – Summer start Mandatory Orientation May 10th May 1st – Fall start October 1st – Spring start
