2  Enrolled in high school and college at the same time  Earn college and high school credit upon successful completion of the course  A final grade is posted in two places: -High School Transcript -College Transcript  Students can take a class in their high school, online, or on YSU’s campus

3  At high school – Teacher applies to YSU as part-time faculty – Approved teachers meet with faculty from campus, teach the same YSU syllabus – High school classroom becomes off-site YSU classroom  Online – Course is taught by a YSU professor – Students complete all of their work in an online environment  On Campus – Students attend class on YSU’s campus. They participate in lectures, class discussions, assignments and test in the classroom

4  Open to college ready 7 th -12 th graders  General YSU admission requirements:  2.0 overall GPA  ACT composite score of 17 OR SAT critical reading & math composite of at least 820 *Admission does NOT guarantee registration in all course offerings.  Passage of state required graduation tests (AIR, OGT’s) *Unless a student is not old enough to take the exam

5  Admission to the YSU CCP Program is different than meeting course placement requirements.  Some courses at YSU require certain scores on the ACT/SAT or YSU-administered placement tests.  YSU follows the State of Ohio College-Readiness Standards:  ACT scores: English 18, Reading 21, Math 22 OR  SAT scores: Writing 430, Reading 450, Math 520

6  Earn up to 30 credits per academic year (120 lifetime max)  A bachelor's degree at YSU requires 120+ credits and associate degrees are 60 credits

Flexibility in College Second major, study abroad opportunities, and additional time for internships  CCP students are NOT required to pay for textbooks/required courses supplies/fees unless they withdraw late or fail a course (check with your school)

10 4. Learn College Skills critical thinking, writing, reading, and study skills 5. Academic Resources CCP students have access to: Maag Library, Writing Center, E-tutoring, Academic Advisors 6. Social Activities CCP students have access to the Rec Center and student admission into YSU athletic events with YSU ID

11  Transfer Assurance Guides (TAG) is an advising tool to ensure comparable, compatible, and equivalent learning experiences across the state’s higher-education system.  University System of Ohio schools automatically accept the credit  Many private & out of state schools also accept the credit…but you will want to check first (save your syllabus)!

12  Read CCP materials (including the Student Handbook) on our website at web.ysu.edu/ccp  Take ACT in February for Summer classes and April for Fall/Spring  Let your school counselor know you want to participate in CCP by April 1  Parent/guardian signatures are required  Campus Education Plan if taking online or campus based courses  Attend YSU Application Day at your high school  Apply online by April 1 for Summer classes; May 1 for Fall/Spring  What if I am a returning student?

13  Take placement test if needed  Attend Orientation/Advisement  If taking classes ONLY in the high school, attend orientation/advisement over the summer  June 21, July 12, 20, 21, August 29, 30  If taking classes on YSU’s campus, meet with Academic Advisor every semester  NEW students will attend May 5 for summer, August 9 or 12 for fall  What if I am a returning student?
