Personal Health Wellness and Your Health

Health  Health is a condition of your physical, emotional, mental and social well-being  Each part is equally important and contribute to your overall wellness. Write 3 characteristics of someone who you think looks healthy.

Physical Health  Describes the condition of your body.  Examples of ways that you can care for your body:  Get 8 hours of sleep every night  Eat nutritious food and a balanced diet  Get plenty of exercise  Practice good hygiene  Avoid drugs, alcohol, and tobacco

Emotional Health  The way you see yourself and respond to others. It is also the way you recognize and deal with your feelings.  Suggestions to maintain your emotional health:  Express emotions in words rather than acting them out  Show self control and think before you act.  Accept your strengths and weaknesses and respect yourself  Deal with sadness appropriately and in a timely manner

Emotional Health  What are some emotional challenges that teens face?  What are ways to deal with these challenges?  Emotional health can lead to success in work, relationships and health. In the past, researchers believed that success made people happy. Newer research reveals that it’s the other way around. Happy people are more likely to work toward goals, find the resources they need and attract others with their energy and optimism — key building blocks of success. American Psychological Association
