Think of someone you would describe as “healthy.” What traits do they have that would identify them as healthy? Discuss your thoughts with your neighbor.

2 Health and Wellness Health– combination of physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being. **Not just the absence of disease. Wellness– a state of well-being or balanced health over a long period of time.

4 Physical Health Refers to how well your body functions.
Keep fit by getting regular exercise. Eat a well-balanced diet. Maintain your ideal weight. Practice good grooming habits. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. Get plenty of rest.

5 Mental Health Involves your feelings and emotions- how you feel about yourself; health of your mind Thinking positively. Express your feelings in a healthy way. Develop your thinking and decision-making skills. Strive to learn new information. Learn how to handle stress Asking for help when needed.
