COMPUTER MANAGEMENT PLAN Courtney ReynoldsED 505August 31, 2010

Computer Rules 1.Only one person per computer. 2.If you come to a problem DO NOT click buttons, raise your hand and I will come help. 3.Stay on the website or document that is assigned for that day. 4.Remember to press the RED X in the top right corner before you leave your computer. 5.Push your chair under the computer table. 6.Do not print unless you have permission from the teacher. Courtney Reynolds

Copyright and Fair Use Policy If you “borrow” a picture from a website or computer program, you must tell where it came from. If you “borrow” words, you must also tell where they came from if they did not come from your head! If you do not tell where something comes from then it is not borrowing, it is stealing. We all know that stealing is WRONG! Courtney Reynolds

Computer Schedule (Four Computers) For a first grade class of 16 students, I would have a chart set up (see previous slide). This chart would have the students grouped in two ways – the animals are all on the same level (all monkeys would be advanced) and the colors are based on the ability to work together. Each group contains two boys and two girls. When it came time for computers, I would either send all monkeys to the computers or all reds to the computer. I would designate a leader (RED- MONKEY) and that person (Alison) would be responsible for making sure all of the rules were followed and that the chairs were pushed under, etc. This would also be the way that I grouped my centers for the day: –Monkeys – Computers- Zebras – Play / Drama –Elephants – Math Center- Tigers – Letters and Words Each day, the groups would change so each group would go to a different center every day. This would give each student the same amount of time for the computer each week. Courtney Reynolds

Computer Schedule (One Computer) MondayTuesdayWednesdayThursdayFriday Computer 10:00 a.m. Computer 10:00 a.m. Computer 10:00 a.m. Computer 10:00 a.m. Courtney Reynolds

Computer Schedule (One Computer) If my classroom were to only have one computer, I would make a calendar (see previous slide) to designate which student would use the computer during center time for the day. We would not use the computers during center time on Fridays because that is the day we all go to the lab together. On the second Tuesday of the month, Anna would use the computer during center time. This would be a rotating process. If a student were absent on their assigned day, they would not make it up. No one would use the computer on their day and then the next person would go on their scheduled day. Courtney Reynolds
