1 Student Notebook

2 Binder Directions: (2nd period)
Look at the front of your binder, do not open it. Write your first and last name on the top right corner. (I will be passing Sharpies around for you to borrow) Under your name write what grade you are in. Example: Desiree’ Wall 7th Grade This is what it should look like in the top right corner of your binder.

3 Open your binder rings and place your pencil bag in the rings.
On the left inside pocket write Take Home. (Look at Ms. Wall’s example) Open your binder rings and place your pencil bag in the rings. Place your pencils, pens, map colors, sharpener, highlighter and eraser tops inside your pencil bag. IF you have a student planner put this in behind your pencil bag. (If you do not have a pencil bag, skip this step)

5 Page Protector Directions (2nd Period)
You will be receiving several pages over the next few minutes, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to where these belong. In your 15 page protectors we will put the pages your received.

6 On the first sheet copy your schedule as it appears on the one you received this morning.
1st page protector: Student schedule, the sheet you just copied. 2nd page protector: Bell schedule 3rd page protector: Assembly bell schedule 4th page protector: Tutorial Schedule 5th page protector: Holiday & grading period information 6th page protector: BMS classroom rules 7th- 15th page protector: Class syllabus or other information. We will not put anything in these, your teachers will be giving you important information to put in these.

7 Be sure that you have the following items in your binder:
Pencil bag with your supplies Student planner IF you have one, if you do not have this it’s ok. Page protectors with your schedule first.

8 Folders (3rd Period) ONLY have your folders on your desk.
You will write on the left pocket the subject and “Homework”. You will need to correspond the correct colored folder with the correct subject (on next slide). On the right pocket of your folder write the subject and under subject write “Graded”. See Ms. Wall’s examples.

9 Remember each subject corresponds to a certain color.
This is important! Green- Reading Red-ELA Yellow-History Blue-Science Orange-Math Purple-Electives If there is time we will begin punching holes in your folders.

10 Folders Continued (4th period)
Your folders need to be turned backwards with the pockets on the outside. There will be a hole punch going around. You will need to punch holes on the outer edge, away from the fold. (See Ms. Wall’s example) You should already have the subject and homework and graded written in your folders. Place the folders in order of your schedule. (The order of folders will be different from your neighbors)

11 Raise your hand if you have questions
Place ONE package of paper behind the last folder. Close your binder rings. Raise your hand if you have questions Extra supplies are for specific classes, these teachers will discuss what you will do with your extra supplies.
