Answer them on the sheet that you have in front of you using the formula we gave you and what you know about percentages Hint: You have a calculator on your machines. You can use the regular calculator or you could type the correct formula into Excel.

9. Putting it all Together  On the next slide you will see a graph that I hope will help you understand how this really works.  The pie represents the whole, or all of your jelly beans.  The chart will show you the math used and the matching percentage for each color of jelly bean.

You spend 47,000 a year. What percentage of your income do you spend every year?  You have 3,000 photographs of your cat. You only like 150 of them. What percentage of your cat pictures do you NOT like?

12. Apply your Knowledge  At this point you have all of the math related skills required to complete the personal budget assignment.  Remember to use formulas to calculate all of the percentages and totals.  Also remember to use cell references in your formulas
