Goals and Expectations To help our students develop a strong foundation, both socially and academically, on which to build and grow for the next 13 years. To develop a love for school and learning. To take our students as far as they are ready to go. “The Three R’s”: Routine, Reading, and Responsibility. To be respectful of all people, property, and rules.

Parent Communication No conferences via Notes on book bag is usually checked at 7:30 and 2:15 unless there is a teacher’s meeting, then it is usually later. Keep your child informed Please Faye Odom at and copy Anna Thomas at

Report cards and conferences There will be 3 report cards. They will be commentaries only. There will be three parent/teacher conferences. 1- November 19 th and 20 th 2- February 25 th and 26 th 3- May 16 th (OPTIONAL) If you have a special request for a conference time, please be sure to let the teacher know before the conferences have been scheduled. = After conferences have been scheduled you are welcome to swap conference times with another parent in our class. Conferences are scheduled approximately 3 weeks in advance.

Tutorials Students will be invited to attend tutorials on occasion. In Kindergarten, tutorials are offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:00 until 2:25. All students will be invited sometime during the year. Tutorials may be for enrichment or for added help in a particular area. We will send you a tutorial form in your child’s folder when he/she is invited to stay for tutorial.

Arrival/Dismissal Late arrivals- must sign in at the LS office Bell rings at 8:00. After that your child will be tardy. After 8:15, your child must sign in at the office. Leaving early- must sign out at the LS office Please display carpool name on green card in the right side of the windshield and leave it there until children are in the car. No cell phones in carpool line or in our classroom

Verifying carpool changes We have created an online carpool change form. It is important that you communicate any carpool changes by using this system. In addition to the Lower School Administration, the coordinators of the After School Activities Program, (ASAP) and the Enrichment Program also will be able to view your changes. Teachers will receive notification of all the changes before the end of the day. The online carpool change form can be found at: aAuvor0vuhXxfsrOuyb3U/viewform?embedded=true Morning carpool- Children must not get out of their cars until someone opens the door for them.

Birthdays You are welcome to join your child for lunch in the dining hall on his/her birthday. Lunch is at 10:45. You may bring a birthday treat for the class or send one in at the morning carpool. If there is not a resource class immediately after lunch, you are welcome to come back to the class and celebrate with us. Please make advanced arrangements in order to assure there are no conflicts. Library Children are permitted to check out 2 books per visit to the library (B-F Days) Books MUST be returned by next visit or no additional books may be checked out. Books should be returned to the library in the morning before going to classroom. If books are lost-Ms. Spetnagel will ask for payment. (Questions or concerns - please call Ms. Spetnagel) My rule- All library books MUST remain in book bags until in your home or back in the library!
