1749 Becomes the official Surveyor for Culpeper County, Virginia 17 years old

1754 George Washington surrendered Fort Necessity in the French and Indian War

George Washington commands Virginia’s frontier troops. Later went back home

1759 Married Mrs. Martha Dandridge Custis

1775 Elected commander in Chief of the Continental Army. Very smart general

Revolutionary War Looked like they were losing in the beginning. Trenton NJ – December 25, 1776 Winter - Valley forge 1777 Yorktown Virginia – October 19, 1781

1789 Elected first president of the United States (13 states).

1793 Washington is re-elected as president.

1799 George Washington dies at Mount Vernon at the age of 67. Cold, fever, throat infection

1953 Was at an all night party. Suffered from a stroke and became paralyzed. Died five days later on March 5, 1953
