Middle School Basketball League

Schedule Practices: Tuesday: 3pm to 5pm Thursday: 3pm to 5pm Games: To be decided.

Character Revealed Some people say that you develop “character” when you play a sport. I say that is incorrect. Your character is revealed when you play a sport.

Commitment Remain committed the whole season Attend ALL practices and games. Always do your best. Not try, DO. If you miss a practice or a game, bring a note explaining the absence.

Respect Be respectful on the court. –Respect all coaches, all other players, the referees and anyone else that is on the field showing their supporting for our team. –Failure to do so will result in suspension from practices and games. –Do not taunt. –Do not scowl. –Do not fight.

Be a Role Model Not many people can be intelligent and athletic – usually it is one or the other. You belong in a rare category – the “Student Athlete.” Behave off the court, and be a good example and a positive role model.

The Student Athlete Maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA). Earn at least a C in all your classes (especially PE). Earn “O” and “S” in citizenship. Do not get suspended or otherwise disciplined.

Playing Time Everyone will practice, but not everyone will play. Playing time will be determined by a combination of effort, grades, citizenship and skill (not necessarily in that order.)

DO NOT leave backpacks in school lockers or in the P.E. locker room.

You will NOT be allowed back into the building after practice.

Practice Schedule 2:45pm to 2:55pm: get books from your school lockers. Go to East Quad and wait for me. 3:00pm to 3:10pm – change into your PE clothes, and bring your backpack to the gym.

Practice Schedule 3:10pm to 5:00pm: practice. 5:00pm - change and go home. Please ask to be picked up by 5pm on Concord.

After report cards come out on January 30, you will be told whether or not you will remain a member of the team. Until then, everyone practices.

Homework: PAL Basketball Applications due Thursday, January 15.
