 The maximum points a player can gain from tryouts is 192 points (16 segments and 12 being the top score) and the lowest total would be 0.  First cuts will be posted Wednesday, October 29 th at Noon on the door of the coaches office. Players should check the list during lunch!  Those not making the team might be called back in case of an injury, academic disqualification, or lack of fall sport participant.  There will be a mandatory meeting for players making the first cut and their parents at 7:30pm on Thursday, October 30 th in the cafeteria. Please bring your check books.  Those playing fall sports will be given a two morning tryout the Monday and Tuesday following the last varsity football game of the season before final rosters are decided.

Each player and parent must sign the Player Code of Conduct prior to participation in any basketball activities. Just a reminder that players who are selected for the teams are expected to be at ALL TEAM EVENTS. No excuses. Schedule tutoring, doctors, etc around your basketball commitments. If you cannot make that commitment, you should not try out for our basketball program. We suggest you review the Player Code of Conduct prior to tryouts. A copy can be found on Coach Dankosky’s website on the Dunwoody High School homepage.

Making cuts is the hardest part of being a coach. Basketball, being the most popular sport in the world and having the least number of players on a roster makes things even more difficult. We developed this method to be fair to all those trying out. VARSITY (All grades) Up to 15 players Six (6) highest ranked players in the program and others spots filled by ranking, position, need and coaches’ judgement. JV (11 th,10 th, 9 th ) Up to 12 players After varsity is chosen, the next six (6) highest ranked players in the program and spots filled in at coaches’ judgement. FRESHMEN (9 th ) Up to 15 players Top ten (10) remaining ranked 9 th graders in the program and other spots filled by ranking, position, and coaches’ judgement.

VARSITY First cuts will be posted on Wed Oct 29 th at noon at the Coaches Office This list will have twelve names on it. The last five players listed will continue with the team but have to go through secondary tryouts with Fall Sport athletes. Those tryouts will take place the Monday and Tuesday morning following the last Varsity football game. JV (11 th,10 th, 9 th ) This list will have up to 12 players on it. FRESHMEN (9 th ) This list will have up to 15 players on it.

FINAL CUTS FOR ALL TEAMS WILL BE POSTED NOON ON THE TUESDAY FOLLOWING THE LAST VARSITY FOOTBALL GAME.
