WELCOME TO MATH CLASS Mrs. McAnelly’s Class Expectations

Tardies ♥Tardies – you will receive 1/2 hour of detention for your first tardy and 1 hour of detention for the next 2. After that, you will be referred to the office. ♥Remember, 3 tardies = 1 unexcused absence ♥After 10 minutes, you are not tardy, you have an unexcused absence. ♥When the bell rings be in your seat working on the warm-up exercises. You never know when I will take a quiz grade on the warm-up. Electronics ♥Leave anything with a battery, other than your calculator, in your bag.

Food, candy, drinks, etc. ♥Are ok until it becomes an issue. One person can spoil it for everyone. (most snacks are ok… Meals are not) ♥I’m not your mom… pick up after yourself.

Leaving the classroom ♥You will be given an emergency pass that allows you to leave the room 4 times during the semester. If not used by the end of the semester, turn it in for extra credit.

Work All work is to be in PENCIL. –No credit is given if work is done in any other media. All work, calculations and steps must be shown. –no work = no credit –A paper with just answers will be given a zero.

Assignments There is an assignment at most class meetings. Assignments are due at the beginning of the next class period. If you have questions on an assignment, please come in before or after school for help.

Anticipated and unanticipated Anticipated absence - you know you’re going to be gone. (sports, Dr. appts, out of town trips) –Get your assignment ahead of time so that when you return, it can be graded with the rest of the class and you do not get behind. Unanticipated absence - you don’t know you’re going to be gone. (illness) –You have a day for a day in which to make up the assignment for full credit.

Late work for the current chapter will be accepted for half credit. Once a chapter test is taken, the window of opportunity for turning in work for that chapter is closed.

Bring your supplies to class: Paper Pencil Assignment Bring a willingness to learn. Bring a good attitude. Ask questions. Be helpful (at appropriate times). Do your best.

HELP! Mrs. McAnelly is usually available for help before and after school. It’s a good idea to make arrangements ahead of time. Help is available in any of the math classrooms. mathplease.com has your calendar, notes, downloadable assignments and help links.
