Extra Help/Make-up work I am available before and after school Tuesday through Thursday I am here usually by 6:30 am and leave around 4:00 pm I can also see them during guided study with an orange pass If your student cannot make one of the times listed I can work with them just have them contact me directly

Homework/Make-up Policy Late homework – Students may turn in late homework the next day for half credit – After the next day it will not be accepted – A 50 is always better than a 0 Make-up Work – Students must take the initiative and schedule a time with me – Work will be entered as a zero until it is made-up – After a period of 5 class days if it has not been made up it will stay a zero

Extra Credit On-going Extra Credit on Thursdays and Fridays – Thursday: Freshman LA – may make a sign for a word of the day from this semester Sign must have word and pictures to represent that word and must be backed by construction paper Students must present word to class and explain pictures – Thursday: Freshman Gifted LA – may submit a sentence using a word of the day from this semester to add to our ongoing story Sentence must make sense in context and students may only submit one sentence per Thursday The typist receives 5 points for typing

Extra Credit Continued Fridays – I put a poem on the projector and give the students about 10 minutes at the beginning of the period to respond to the poem They must respond, but if they can write up a full page response (front only) with some higher level thinking in it then they can earn up to 5 points towards a daily grade For both options they may earn up to 20 points total towards a daily grade and 10 points total towards a major grade – That’s a total of 40 points towards daily grades and 20 points towards major grades of extra credit offered per semester – They cannot add extra credit to a 100
