2 About Me BA in English from Oglethorpe University Masters in English Education from GA State University Experience: 9 years at Brookwood High School Assistant Cross-Country Coach Married to Jason Cloward, PhD in Microbiology Works for CDC in Atlanta on Pertussis vaccine 2 children: Isaac James Cloward – 2 years old Emily Elaine Cloward – due date: October 7th

4 Materials All students should have a 3 ring binder for LA only A composition notebook for journaling 10 labeled divider tabs Plenty of loose leaf notebook paper Blue or black ink pens Number two pencils Highlighters Index cards Flashdrive to save electronic work

6 Extra Help/Make-up work I am available before and after school Tuesday through Thursday I am here usually by 6:30 am and leave around 4:00 pm I can also see them during guided study with an orange pass If your student cannot make one of the times listed I can work with them just have them contact me directly

7 Homework/Late Work Policy Freshman – For prearranged due dates students must have assignment/be prepared on the due date even if they are out the day before – Students may turn in late work the next day for half credit – if they have an excused absence – If a student is present the day something is due he/she must turn it in to me before they leave even if he/she checks in/out before/after my period – After the next day it will not be accepted – A 50 is always better than a 0

8 Homework/Late Work Policy Seniors Homework is due at the beginning of the period For prearranged due dates students must have assignment/be prepared on the due date even if they are out the day before If a student is present the day something is due he/she must turn it in to me before he/she leaves even if he/she check in/out before/after my period Daily work and homework may not be turned in late at all. Only in an extreme emergency situation will any assignment be accepted late or via email.

9 Make-up Work Policy Students have five days after an excused absence It is the student’s responsibility to schedule a time with me when he/she can come to make it up The student will not be allowed to make up work in class If the student knew about a test in advance and he/she is absent the day before he/she must still be prepared to take the test
