► Compass Rose - the symbol on maps that show the Cardinal points ► Cardinal Points – North, South, East & West

► Latitudes (Parallels) – horizontal lines that divide maps and globes ► Longitudes (Meridians) - vertical lines that divide maps and globes

► Equator - Latitude line that divides the earth in half (0 o latitude) ► Northern Hemisphere - Everything above the equator ► Southern Hemisphere - Everything below the equator

► Prime Meridian (International Dateline) - Longitude line that divides earth in half (0 o longitude) ► Western Hemisphere - Everything left of the Prime Meridian ► Eastern Hemisphere - Everything right of the Prime Meridian
