YOUNG LEADERS… … for Leaders

What is the Young Leaders Scheme? A specialist Explorer Scout Unit, Part of the District Ongoing programme of training To provide support to enable Young Leaders to work effectively in Section of their choice To develop leadership skills Preparing the leaders of tomorrow?!

Who’s it for? ANY young person (14 – 18 years of age) Not just Explorer Scouts Working in: Beaver Colony Cub Scout Pack Scout Troop Recommended not their own within 6 months Encourage to attend normal ESU Provision of Balanced Programme

What is involved? 11 instructional modules 1 compulsory module Within 3 months of joining Young Leaders’ Unit 1 to 2 hours each (except K – First Aid) Flexible delivery 4 Missions (projects)

D of E Requirements Volunteer on regular weekly basis as a Young Leader within a younger section (Beavers, Cubs or Scouts) Must complete Module A (Prepare for Take off!) Must complete other Modules Bronze2 Modules + A Silver3 Modules + A Gold5 Modules + A Assessed and signed off by DESC
