COLLEGE TESTING TIMELINE 10 th grade PSAT (October) 11 th grade PSAT/NMSQT (October) SAT or ACT with Writing (March, May, June) CSU’s EAP- Students will take during Standards testing (April) 12 th grade SAT or ACT with Writing (October, November, December) 22

PSAT/NMSQT  PSAT/NMSQT is offered one time a year in October.  Tentative 2015 date: Wednesday, October 14 th  Juniors are strongly encouraged to take the test due to the National Merit Scholarship Qualification possibility.  PSAT shows a students strengths and weaknesses in certain areas that are similar on the SAT College Entrance Exams.  PSAT is not an indicator of how well a student may do on the SATs nor used in College Entrance evaluations. COMMUNITY COLLEGE CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT PROGRAM Opportunity for high school students to enroll in classes at a community college for free (purchase of textbooks required) Can take up to 3 classes per semester CAUTION! Community college classes taken while in high school are posted to college transcript and must be reported when applying to colleges/universities. 25

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT PROCESS 1. Complete community college application for campus of choice on-line 2. Take any required placement tests in English and Math 3. See high school counselor to select courses 4. Complete concurrent enrollment application (see counselor) and obtain required signatures (parent & counselor) 5. Submit concurrent enrollment form to College Admissions Office Due to impaction in certain courses, high school students could have a difficult time getting into community college classes. 26
