 Having a classroom job helps to develop responsibility and self-esteem by empowering you with important duties in the classroom. As members of this class it is important we work together in our classroom management. Your job will also help you to improve your teamwork skills, contribute to a smooth running classroom, and create a community.

 Technology Managers x2  Librarian  Courier x2  Distribution Specialists x2  Housekeeping Managers x2  Fashion Police x2  Administrator  Administrative Assistant x2  Music Assistant  Dismissal Inspector

 The technology managers will be responsible for maintaining the net books. You will distribute net books to students, ensure that net books are returned to its proper slot on the cart, make sure all net books are plugged into the chargers. You report any issues or misuse of the net books. You will also be responsible for helping the teacher with all the technology in the classroom as needed.  Make certain the Netbook Cart is locked at the end of each school day.

 As the classroom librarian you will be responsible for maintaining our classroom library. If students are too noisy in the library it is your responsibility to politely keep the noise levels down. If books are checked out from the library, the librarian checks out the books and makes sure they are returned on time. The librarian keeps the bookshelves organized and clean.

 The courier takes attendance to the office and delivers messages and other items to other teachers. The courier is a responsible and mature individual who returns promptly to the classroom once they have delivered the message or item for the teacher.

 The distribution specialist helps the teacher pass out and collect papers, scissors, glue, or any materials that students do not already have available in their desks. To speed up the process, the distribution specialists may call on one member from each team to come and collect supplies or hand them in.

 The housekeeping managers are responsible for keeping our room clean. Duties include picking up trash on the floor, cleaning the whiteboard, and helping out with spills or other mishaps that may lead to messes in the classroom.  Make certain that all materials are off the floor when you leave at the end of the day.

 The fashion police are an important asset to the classroom and their peers. As a fashion police officer you will be responsible for checking student uniforms. Every morning you will be responsible for making sure each student is properly dressed. If a student is out of uniform it is the responsibility of the fashion police to inform the student of their violation, inform the administrator, and see that a fine is given. On Friday, you will collect Jeans Money and bring to the school office no later than 9 am.

 The administrator is responsible for checking students agendas in the mornings, and lunch count. Administrators may also be asked to help substitute teachers and answer any questions they may have regarding procedures and routines.

 The administrative assistant is responsible for taking notes as well as copying homework and objectives for absent students. The administrative assistant will also collect any papers, assignments, or forms absent students have missed. If applying for this position you must have legible handwriting.

 The music assistant is responsible for distributing music folders each Thursday before music class. As well, the MA will collect folders upon returning to class. You must be responsible and have a pleasant personality for this position.

 It is the inspector’s responsibility to ensure that all student desks and under desk areas are free of papers, pencils, etc.  Verify that each student’s chair is properly stacked in the back of the classroom.  If water bottles are left on desktops, or other surfaces in the room, the owner of the water bottle must properly recycle said bottle.  The Dismissal Inspector then dismisses the student when these objective are achieved.
