1 Top 10 Routines & Procedures Sarah Rychart

2 # 10- How to Sit When you sit in your seat: -Sit facing forward - Seat tucked in - Backs straight - Heads are up ready to listen - All 4 chair legs are on the floor

3 #9- Working in Groups Greet your group Decide which team members will get certain materials Divide up the work equally Do your best work and complete the work Make sure everyone’s name is on the assignment Thank everyone and turn it in

4 #8- Taking out/ Putting away Supplies Share supplies Recap markers and glue Return supplies to the right basket Throw away any garbage around your desk

5 #7- What to Do When You Finish Work on unfinished assignments Complete classroom job Read a book Help other classmates

6 #6- Class Assignments The posted assignment is on the right hand side of the board, next to the daily schedule. Make sure your name and date is on the assignment Read all directions before beginning. Ask for help from at least 3 others before asking for help from Teacher. When complete, turn it into the done box.

7 #5- End of the Day Clear off your desk Stack your chair Collect mail from your cubby Put papers in backpack to take home Throw away trash around your desk Collect your coat and backpack & come to calendar center to be dismissed.

8 #4- Asking for Help Students will use hand signals to make requests. When asking for class work help, students should “see 3 before me.” -1 finger raised= Need class work help -2 fingers raised= Need to use bathroom -3 fingers raised= Need a drink of water -4 fingers raised= Wish to leave my seat -5 fingers raised= Other help needed

9 #3-Lining Up Stand up quietly Push in your chair Gather necessary items such as a coat, lunch, backpack or lunch card Keep hands and words to yourself Face forward Watch where you are going

10 #2- Quieting a Class Look or listen for signal (raised hand, bell, clapping etc). Freeze Voices off, hands and feet still Turn and face the Teacher Eyes on the Teacher Be ready for directions

11 #1- Start of Day Enter room quietly Select lunch choice on lunch chart. Move magnet to show you are here on attendance chart. Put away coat & backpack Turn in homework Work quietly on seatwork at your desk
