What’s New for 2014-15? No Field testing = all schools have been assigned Form 1 Examiner’s Manuals = directions to students to “stow away” materials not needed for testing have been changed to “put away” materials Answer Books= several fields previously included on the demographic pages do not need to be hand-grid; these fields will be extracted from CALPADs Assessment Services

CELDT Overview: The Purpose Initial Assessment: to identify new students who are English learners and determine their level of English proficiency Annual Assessment: to assess all English learners on their progress in acquiring the English language Assessment Services

Initial Assessment Administered to all newly enrolled (to the district) students in Grades K-12 with a language other than English indicated on their Home Language Survey Must be administered within 30 calendar days of enrollment To determine English proficiency for all new students Administered throughout the year Assessment Services

Annual Assessment Administered to all continuing English learners in Grades K-12 Administered September 2, 2014 through October 15, 2014 To assess the progress of English learners on acquiring listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills Used in determining Reclassification Assessment Services
