All rights reserved. 2015 Pre-Test Workshop | Slide 3 New for the 2015 Test Administration Of the CAPA tests, only the CAPA for Science will be administered. Because this test is administered to students in grades five, eight, and ten in Levels I and III– V, there is no test administered in Level II in 2015. Because all demographic data originate from CALPADS, some demographic fields have been removed from answer documents and test booklets, which has also caused some answer document fields to be renumbered. The fields remaining on answer documents are related to student identification and test conditions.

Test materials shipped out of district on April 22. Site distributes test materials to examiners – CST/CMA testing materials: day of test only – CAPA testing materials: as soon as possible

CMA, CAPA in separate boxes for each school Fax a copy of the packing list indicating results of inventory (FAX # 398-2141) as soon as inventory is completed – If order is complete, FAX a copy of p.1 only with notation “Order Complete” – If discrepant, FAX relevant pages noting discrepancy. If you need additional materials, FAX order form

All rights reserved. 2015 Pre-Test Workshop | Slide 7 Before Testing Prepare a site testing schedule and send a copy to the district coordinator by 3/25. Conduct training for test examiners and proctors Collect Test Security Affidavits from anyone handling test materials. Arrange for locked central storage of testing materials Establish a location where test examiners will pick up and return materials each day. Ensure that testing locations are appropriately prepared.

MAKE SURE CORRECT TESTS ARE ADMINISTERED. Note: ─Students who are not testing may not stay in the classroom where a test is being administered. ─If students need to be taken to another room to finish testing, BE SURE THEY ARE ESCORTED BY TEST SITE STAFF. Do not allow students to walk to another room with test materials by themselves. Test Site Coordinators: Train Examiners

All rights reserved. 2015 Pre-Test Workshop | Slide 9 Examiners shall monitor students throughout testing to make sure students are: – Marking in the correct section (CST vs. CMA). – Not going on to other parts or back to a previously completed part. – Not skipping a question on their answer document (so that they are off by one or more). – Not using unauthorized electronic devices during the testing session. – Examiners must ensure there is enough time to complete a part before beginning the part. All rights reserved. 2015 Pre-Test Workshop | Slide 11 Security Audits will be conducted – At randomly selected LEA offices and schools – Before, during, or after testing – Key Questions: Are testing materials secure, accounted for, and locked up when not in use? Are correct administrative procedures being followed? For example: Instructional materials have been removed or covered. Students are not being coached through the exams. Only appropriate Universal Tools, Designated Supports, and Accommodations are being provided. No unauthorized electronic devices are being used. Test Security Reminders

All rights reserved. 2015 Pre-Test Workshop | Slide 32 Packing Materials Pack Scorable and Non-scorable materials as noted on pages 43-44. – Number cartons separately for scorable and non-scorable materials. – Band documents in manageable sets. – Number bands under the same SGID – Do not place documents in different orientations under the same band. Review the guidelines for handling Nonscorable Materials in Table 12 on page 45. Do not return items that may be discarded or securely destroyed.
