 WHAT we did:  Healthy SNACZ Tail Gate  Recipe contest  Winner: Ms. Grandeen’s Class Blue Berry Parfait Reward  WHY we did it:  Encouraged peers to eat healthy at school actives  We LEARNED:  To make food healthy in a new and fun way

 WHO attended:  Pre-school - 8 th  WHEN it happened:  Feb 13 th 2014  WHERE it happened:  Elgin Elementary School

 WHAT we did:  Delivering healthy fruit trays with a poem to each grade  WHY we did it:  Show peers you can replace unhealthy foods with healthy foods AND still have a tradition  We LEARNED:  You can still have parties and holidays and still have healthy fun treats

 WHO attended:  Imbler, Union, Elgin, North Powder, & Cove Elementary Schools (Grades 4-8)  Open to the public  WHEN it happened:  April 29 th, 2014  WHERE it happened:  Elgin Community Center

 WHAT we did:  Elgin Booth: “Try This Not That” Whole Grains Facilitated by OHSU Nursing Student- Nicole Stanford  Our booth explained why processed grains were unhealthy AND why whole grains are healthy.  WHY we did it:  Taught our peers what foods were healthy and what foods were unhealthy  We LEARNED:  Food companies process foods by taking off the outer healthy shell of the whole grain before they bag them.
