2014-’15 Fulton Fire Running Club

What is Running Club? Running club is a school program that gives students an opportunity to exercise through running. Running is an excellent activity to keep your heart healthy and a good way for students to push themselves physically. Running club will be every Monday and Wednesday morning from 7:25-8:05. There will be no make-ups due to bad weather or holidays. Please be on time when dropping off up your child. When is Running Club?

Where is Running Club? The Running club track is set up around the perimeter of our playground. We do all our running on the school grounds. Children keep track of their laps and record them after practice. Running club is open to any child Kinder through 6 th with a positive attitude who has a desire to run and get healthier with each step. Running Club costs $5.00. This money is required by CUSD and allows us to utilize tax credit funds for needed supplies Who can join Running Club? What’s the cost and why?

Where do I drop off my child? All student will enter the front gate by the kinder playground. There will be a coach or parent volunteer there to check them in starting at 7:25. Each student will place their backpack in the classroom line up spot and proceed to the track to start running. If your student attends Kids Express, Mr. Andrew will have a list and will release them to the track at 7:25.

Kindergarten For safety reasons, we highly encourage kindergarteners to run with an older sibling or parent during the first few weeks of Running Club. After they become comfortable, then they are welcomed to run with the group by themselves.

Breakfast—Change of Clothing When done running, students will be released to the playground and will line up with their class before school starts. Runners can bring a change of clothes and something to eat after they are finished. Members will have access to the restrooms to change and freshen up. Children may purchase breakfast from the café. Please check the CUSD Nutrition website for pricing and breakfast choices daily.
