1 Senior Beta Meeting 1

2 Mission Statement To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. ACHIEVEMENT - Recognizing and honoring high academic achievement CHARACTER - Preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful LEADERSHIP - Developing the leaders of tomorrow SERVICE - Demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others

Advisors: Ms. Price and Mrs. Atkins Any student wanting a leadership position as an officer, please fill out and return an officer application to Ms. Price by Friday, October 13th.

4 Club Dues and Service hours
Returning members $10.00 New Members $25.00 Freshmen: 5 points Junior: 20 points Sophomore: 10 points Senior: 30 points You Must have ALL of your service hours from ALL previous years you were inducted in order to receive a cord for graduation. If you have paid all of your dues, the cords will be provided by National Beta Club at no extra cost. Service hours can be turned into Mrs. Price in room 403 at any time.

5 Honors Cords Beta Club honors cords can be worn to graduation.
CORDS REQUIRE A TOTAL OF 60 SERVICE POINTS. In order to receive your cord you MUST have completed all of your service hours and paid your dues for every year previously inducted.

6 Fundraisers Puerto Rico Relief Fundraiser- raising money to help the relief effort taking place in Puerto Rico after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Concessions for Drama Club Plays- Concession stand by the gym will be open before the performance and during intermission. Beta members will also clean up the auditorium prior to plays.

7 Club Participation Activities
Members are encouraged to participate in school service activities. Love My School Day- School cleaning before homecoming, endorsed by Mr. Booker Homecoming Parade- March of the clubs around the track prior to the football game, including a “Best Banner” contest

8 Member Involvement Members will be offered ample opportunities throughout the year to earn service points and to participate in activities throughout the school. Each activity you participate in will earn you a different amount of points based on the complexity of the activity.
