How do you know if Ms. Herrera wants your attention? I will stand, raise my arm and count with my fingers in silence. I don’t like getting to five. Respect is a MUST here.

What are your classroom procedures? Always be prepared for class prior to entering. Enter in silence, sit in your designated seat and work on the bell ringer posted on the board daily. Always raise your hand and wait to be called upon; outbursts of any kind will result in a poor conduct grade for the day. Always remain in your seat; any trash must be thrown away as you exit the room once I have dismissed the class. NO CELL PHONES will be used in here or anywhere during school hours. It must stay in your bookbag. If I see it once, it will be sent to the office and must be picked up by a parent 24 hours later. Abide by all school rules including the uniform policy, procedures and guidelines. If you have a question or need to talk to me about something, write me a sticky note, leave it on your desk and I will pick it up after the bell ringer activity.

What do you do when the bell rings to switch? Before I dismiss you, look under your desk and make sure that everything is clean around your area. You will pack up a minute before the bell rings, or when I tell you to do so. I dismiss you…NOT the sound of the bell. Put all books back in their proper place.

What do you do during a class discussion? Everyone will get a chance to speak if you don’t interrupt someone while they are speaking. You raise your hand and silently wait your turn to speak and contribute to the conversation.

What do I do if I need to get out of my seat? You may only get out of your seat without permission in case of a bathroom emergency or other emergency. KEY WORD: EMERGENCY
