My Rules Follow directions quickly Raise your hand for permission to speak. Raise your hand for permission to get out of your seat. Make smart choices.

Consequences I follow the school wide “3 strikes” rule. I give three warnings, then the 4 th infraction in my class leads to a detention. Three team detentions leads to an office referral.

Discipline Book I don’t have an “oops” book, but I do keep track of all warnings given in my discipline book. If I write you a warning, I will let you know that you are getting written up. There will never be a warning that you are unaware of. I also keep locker and restroom passes in this book You get 3 of each per semester. If you need to use the restroom, ask to go before the bell rings.

Procedures Agenda Daily work in blue, minor grades in orange, major grades in red Daily CHAMPs Sign out book 3 passes per semester. Any time before the bell rings. Warm up NOISE I’m done, now what? Stickers Returning notes on first day, bringing tissues or glue, winning games and reviews, bringing science facts, being a good citizen. Supply boxes Attention signals

And while we are at it…. Ways to get on my bad side. Speaking negatively of others Interrupting while I’m talking Talking, moving around, etc. Wait until after I’m done talking to sharpen your pencil or ask to go to the restroom! Messing with my supply boxes When you steal or break this stuff, you are only harming yourself. And making me mad. Writing on my desks If I catch you, it’s an automatic detention. Seriously.

Grades I will follow the district grading policy. We are all learning this together. Here’s what it looks like: All assignments will be referenced to the standards: Standards on my website. All student grades will be reflective of their learning. No inflating/deflating grades. Expectations for student learning will not be compromised for failure to meet deadlines. A zero will be recorded in the gradebook only when content mastery has not been demonstrated. No zeroes for “missing work” All students will be given the opportunity for reassessment of all summative assessments, excluding semester exams.

Homework Homework and daily work will be used to apply what has been learned in class. There will be no grade given for homework and daily work, but it will be used for feedback to the student.

Reassessment Students will be given the opportunity to reassess any assignment for full credit, and they may reassess as many times as they choose. In order to reassess, however, they must show that new learning has taken place. 1. All work must be turned in 2. their journals must be up-to-date. 3. They must attend a tutorial to discuss the standards they would like to reassess. If on a major grade (test) they make below a 70%, they will be required to reassess. They will be given a reassessment contract, and they must complete that contract within 5 days. No reassessments will be available on the last week of the grading period, and no reassessment will be available on semester exams.

Tutorials I offer tutorials every morning and afternoon except for Wednesday and Thursday morning. Your child is welcome to come to me for tutorials at this time and I will help them with anything they are struggling with. They will need to get a pass from me prior to the day that they will be coming in.

EDMODO CODES!!!! I will be posting the daily agenda and warm-up on Edmodo, along with assignments and due dates. Sign up this week and get a sticker! Keep this code in the front of your agenda just in case you need it. 3 rd Period: r9wkcv 7 th Period: 36x4xb
