MS.ELEXIA WHITE  I have 2 sisters and 1 brother  I have 1 nephew who is the apple of my eye  I love to spend time with my family  I am afraid of BIRDS!  I love traveling!  One day, I plan on visiting Africa

SCHOOL CAREER  I went to West Middle School and graduated from DeSoto High School  I attended Prairie View A&M University to become a teacher  Before coming to West, I taught at a Lanier Middle School in Houston, TX.

THE LAW!!!  R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I DO NOT TOLERATE DISRESPECT! -Each student is required to respect themselves, their teachers/facilitators, and their peers AT ALL TIMES! -Respect is earned, not given.

ISTEAM STUDENTS HAVE SWAG!  Success  Willpower  Attitude  Goals

RESTROOM  All students will have the opportunity to go to the restroom during passing periods.  If you go to the restroom during a rotation, DIY time or project time, YOU MUST SIGN THE RESTROOM LOG ON THE DOORS OF EACH RESTROOM.  DURING ROTATIONS, DO NOT ASK TO GO TO THE RESTROOM UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY.

HALL PASSES - If you need to go to another iSTEAM area or out of iSTEAM for any reason, you MUST HAVE AN iSTEAM TEACHER PASS. -Each teacher has a different colored pass. -NO PASS=NO ENTRY  TARDY: - If you are tardy, you MUST sign the tardy log located at the iSTEAM student entrance.

JOURNALS  Each iSTEAM student is required to get a composition book for History.  Every DT/DIY day, you will use your journal to record warmups, take notes, complete DIYs, paste in organizers and other helpful strategies  Journals are to be turned in to the GREEN BINS located to the top of the binder shelf.

JOURNALS  JOURNALS MUST STAY IN THEIR DESIGNATED BIN AND CANNOT BE TAKEN HOME UNLESS THEY ARE CHECKED OUT TO STUDY.  YOU MUST CHECK IT BACK IN THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL DAY!  IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR JOURNAL AND PLACE IT IN THE PROPER PLACE  IF IT IS LOST, IT IS ALSO YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO RE-DO ALL PREVIOUS PAGES IN YOUR JOURNAL!

DIYS AND GRADES  I will grade journals weekly to make sure that all DIYs and notes are taken.  If there is an assignment that is not given in your notebook, it must be turned in to the GREEN AND WHITE trays by the printer.  DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING IN MY HANDS!

PROJECT GRADES  Each group will be given a rubric for the history portion of every project.  MAKE SURE THAT YOUR READ THE RUBRIC AT LEAST 3 TIMES TO GAIN UNDERSTANDING  IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT ANY PORTION OF THE PROJECT, DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO ASK.
