Mrs. Carlson’s Classroom Behavior & Procedure Guide Basic Training Mrs. Carlson’s Classroom Behavior & Procedure Guide

Bathroom Passes You must have a pass(hanging on door) Don’t be a chronic user  You will make up class time after school if you need to go everyday

Homework Homework/Classwork is worth 25% of your grade Homework is GRADED! Homework will be completed DURING class most of the time. Some occasions will require students to take it home to finish. If homework is not completed in class, it will not be given full credit. Homework/Classwork is the gateway to success. Practice prepares you for the assessment!!

PHONES/CHROMEBOOK Phones: Chromebooks: You may not use your phone while I am teach or when we are doing a class task. If your phone is a problem, I will remove it. *I do allow music while working. If you use your phone appropriately, there will not be any problems. Chromebooks: Chromebooks are to be used appropriately. They are used for note-taking and class participation. If you are using your chromebook during lecture time inappropriately, I will confiscate it.

Absent Work All homework assignments will be posted at the front of the room and on powerschool daily. It is your job to look at the board and copy down your assignment. Its also in the email. If you need a worksheet, you can get one from me or on my website rcarlson.buchananschools.com. You are allowed 1 day for each day absent to complete your work. If you are absent, notes are linked to the class website.

Late Work Any assignment that is not in at the end of class or before class begins is flagged late. All late work is 10% off. No exceptions! Late work can be turned in anytime before the chapter or unit is completed.

Opening Work Opening work consists of math is practice problems that we do each day. This makes up 10% of your grade. You will not do other work or talk during this time or you will lose your daily points. This is a great time to ask questions or reinforce skills that you may be weak at.

Materials Please get a notebook for math. This does not mean sheets of paper random in your book. I have binders available for you to keep your notes in if you would like one. We take notes everyday and you will need to refer to these daily! The textbook is linked online and I will display the problems on my TV daily. If you would like to check out a textbook, please let me know. Otherwise, you can use the online version linked to my website.

Graphing Calculators All Core math classes are provided graphing calculators TI-84 plus for the school year. To check one out you and your guardian must sign a waiver accepting responsibility for the calculator. If it is damaged or lost you will replace it for $100. You are expected to bring this daily.

Tests All tests will be announced by myself and posted on my website. Tests are worth 55% of your grade. If you are not doing the daily work independently, you will not perform well on the tests. Test Alerts/Updates: For Algebra 2 Text 81010 Message: @19BHSA2 For Honors Algebra 2 Message: @19BHSHA2

Courtesy Raise your hand to speak Get all materials before class begins. Sharpen pencils before class or at a time where individuals are not speaking. Keep your hands to yourself.

Math I am available for questions/help before and after school. It your job to set up time to come in and work with me on areas that you need help. There are not any “Saving Graces” in this class. You must do the daily work to attain passing grades!

Technology Grades are updated on powerschool everyday with the homework assignment also. All worksheets are in .pdf form for you to view or print off from home or the library. The textbook is online with a link(no username) Link: rcarlson.buchananschools.com Class Notes are also on the website

Keytrain/KHAN Academy We will be working with web-based programs designed to better your career-readiness skills and SAT scores. Test scores have increased on average 6% each year since using these programs for test prep! These programs can be accessed and worked on at home also.

ICE New this year is ICE. Every student will be working on an individualized curriculum program outside of your regular classes. This takes place between 2nd and 3rd hr. More details to come as we roll it out
