6 NEED HELP??? We are offering weekly Math 6 help sessions every Thursday morning, starting after Labor Day! 8:15-8:45am The schedule is posted on the blog, and students also have a copy of the tutoring schedule in their MSGs.

9 SCHOOL RULES Dress Code (see Student Agenda and green handout) –The following is not acceptable…holes in any garment, leggings/jeggings (worn under a skirt/dress/shorts or alone), pajama pants, flip flops, sport slides, tank tops Behavior ~ PBIS Appropriate behavior is essential to a successful school year. This especially includes following directions and having a positive attitude! REP Bucks Consequences in Agenda (see student agenda!)

10 Classroom Procedures Agenda – write homework daily –Behavior Card & Restroom passes Homework….MOST nights!! When in doubt check the Math blog! Daily Assignments –Warm-up –Check or Review Homework assignment –Activator –Classwork –Closing / Homework Quiz or Test every Friday

11 The Agenda/Planner I sign agendas everyday This stamp will alert you about your child’s HW (purple, blue and red)

12 Got Work? Make-up Work –It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that all work is made up. –Student must check with me for all make up work –Number of days absent plus one additional day to turn in work. Late Work –Students who turn in late work may receive partial credit.

14 COMMUNICATION & GRADES * Blast communication will come through SYNERGY * Make sure your child is monitoring their own grades (there should not be ANY surprises!)

16 ADVANCED 7 REQUIREMENTS In order to be placed in the advanced program next year……. Must maintain an 90% or better TEST average. AND Other requirements (teacher recommendation, standardized test scores) may also be a factor

17 MATH – How can you help your child be successful? Make sure your child is completing nightly homework PLEASE don’t say, “I was never good at math either.” That often makes it seem like the kids have a “pass.” Check the blog for fun games and videos if your child isn’t proficient Make sure your child is studying for Friday’s quiz/test Use the MSG!! (The study guide for the unit is already there!!) Be knowledgeable of the topics your child is learning, and point them out in everyday situations. Show them math in the “real world” to help them see the relevance. Ask your child to show you what he or she is learning
