Kitchen Equipment Learning Target: I can identify common kitchen tools, equipment, and the uses for each

1. Measuring Spoons Used to measure dry or liquid ingredients Made of metal or plastic

2. Dry Measuring Cups Used to measure dry ingredients or fats Made of metal or plastic

3. Liquid Measuring Cup Used to measure liquid ingredients Has a spout and a handle Made of glass or see-through plastic

4. Metal Spatula Used to spread evenly or to level off measurements

5. Rubber Scraper Used to mix or scrape the sides of a bowl Flexible rubber allows you to get everything mixed through

6. Mixing Bowls Used to hold ingredients to be mixed together in a recipe Made of glass, metal, or plastic Come in many sizes

7. Pastry Blender Used to combine a fat (butter or shortening) with flour Typically how you start a pie crust or pastry dough

8. Grater Used to grate/shred cheese, vegetables, etc. May be just one panel or a box shape
