Class Rules and Procedures Mrs. Ruff

CLASS RULES Be Respectful Be Responsible

Be Respectful To each other, to me, to self, and to any visitors No talking when somebody else is speaking Raise your hand when you want to speak, unless you are called on No profanity No throwing things No bullying or fighting (Immediate referral) No destruction of property (Immediate referral) Return borrowed items Clean up after yourself Do not interfere with the learning of others

Be Responsible Bring materials Be on time Come to class If absent, be responsible for what you missed Take notes Pay attention Ask questions if you are confused or need clarification Be productive Do your own work

DAILY PROCEDURES Come in, put your phone in the Cell Motel and be seated Get materials out – including homework from previous day’s class. Put homework questions on the Parking Lot. Homework must be turned in to the class basket no later than the end of the day on the date it is due. NO LATE HOMEWORK ACCEPTED. Daily activity on board must be completed by 5 minutes after the bell rings. Keep warmups in your notebook with your notes. Notes and warmups will get a grade at the end of each week – or at any random point you are asked to show your notebook. TARDYS GET 0 POINTS! Write down the goal/Objective for the day Take notes during instruction – we will use Cornell Notes If I write something down YOU should be writing it down

DAILY PROCEDURES Continued Comments or questions should be relevant during instruction Remain seated unless you have permission to move about the room. If you have a special need in this area, please see me privately During team work time keep discussion relevant During individual work time keep the noise level low, and keep discussion relevant to assignment

DAILY PROCEDURES Continued Follow directions the first time Raise your hand if you need me to come help you No personal grooming in class (includes grooming of others, I should not have to say this!) stay in your seat until class is dismissed. Remember I dismiss you, not the bell Give EVERYONE a chance to answer questions – I should not just hear from 2 or 3 students Give others time to think about what’s been asked

DAILY PROCEDURES Continued Hall Passes Not during instructional time!!!! Not during first ten minutes or last ten minutes You must see me to get the pass Return the pass to me when you return Do not abuse your hall pass privilege – you have 4 opportunities per each 9 weeks – possible extra credit!

SCHOOL PROCEDURES Truancy, Tardy, Cell Phone and Dress Code policies will be followed Excused Tardies Enter class quietly Place excuse in basket

Assignments Paper Heading (Upper Right Corner) Name Date Period # Page and problems assigned along with assignment title ie. HW12 Page 42 #2,4,7,9

Assignments Homework will be assigned daily It may only be 2 or 3 problems, or it may be 20 Homework will be due on the second class period following the day it was assigned and must be turned in before I leave for the day on the date due. NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up missing assignments

Assignments We will have homework quizzes which will cover random problems from the homework. You can easily get 100% if you complete all homework assignments Quizzes are revisable for a small penalty Will go over in class (ASK if you didn’t get a problem or section) Make corrections on your paper (in a different color) Assessments will also be available for revision!
