TEKS 8.7 C The student is expected to use pictures or models to demonstrate the Pythagorean Theorem. 8.9 A The student is expected to use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve real-life problems. 8.14 C The student is expected to select or develop an appropriate problem-solving strategy from a variety of different types, including drawing a picture, looking for a pattern, systematic guessing and checking, acting it out, making a table, working a simpler problem, or working backwards to solve a problem.

November 11, 2013 on page 88 in spiral Warm Up: Word problem involving Pythagorean Theorem on page 89 Objective: The students within their groups will be using centimeter cubes to represent the relationship between areas of squares formed by the legs and hypotenuse of the right triangle using “Discovering the Pythagorean Theorem.” Homework: The students will complete “Modeling the Pythagorean Theorem.” Remind student they will be given a quiz on Friday over homework and warm up questions.

Warm Up for November 11 page 89
