Mr.McCurdy Absentee Policy Late Work/Tutorials Technology Math 6 Mr.McCurdy 2017-2018 Late Work/Tutorials Absentee Policy 2016-2017 * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. * It is the student’s responsibility to check the absent work folders for the day(s) absent for assignments missed. If there is no work in the folder, the student needs to seek out Ms. Little to make sure there is no make up work. * A student has the same number of days to turn in missed assignments as the number of days they were absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. Students will receive 10 points off for each day late. Students have up to three (3) days from the assigned due date to turn in a late assignment. After three (3) days of not turning in an assignment, the student receives a zero (0). Mr.McCurdy will be offering morning tutorials EVERYDAY from 6:55am – 7:25am as long as the student has obtained a pass from myself. Tutorials are offered everyday in Mrs. Fisseler’s room (315) from 2:50pm - 3:15pm. Technology Cell Phones or any personal technology will not be used on campus. It is to be put in the students locker or backpack and is to remain unseen from 6:50am-2:50pm. If a phone is seen, it will be confiscated immediately and a parent will be responsible for picking up the device. In lieu of that, Asus or Dell tablets will be used weekly in math. The majority of class assignments, projects, and assessments will be assigned through Google Classroom or online via Eduphoria. We will occasionally use Prodigy, Ten Marks, Khan Academy or Think Through Math (these may also be used at home for extra practice). Some assignments will be completed on notebook paper as well. Each class period will have their own Google Classroom code. Students are expected to abide by all school and district safety rules and guidelines. Failure to do so will result in consequences established by Willis ISD. Sign up for REMIND for daily reminders! Text @mrbmccur the number 81010 Retest policy for failing test grades Cheating The student must attend at least 30 minutes of tutorials. Then a retest must be scheduled within two weeks of the test being handed back. The student will receive a grade no higher than a 70 on a retest. * The teacher will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating is suspected. * The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. Parents/Guardians, I look forward to the year ahead with your child and all that we will learn and discover about math, each other, and the world around us. I encourage each of you to contact me if you eve have any questions or concerns. Email will provide the quickest response time since we do not have phone in our classrooms. My webpage is also a great reference tool as well as Parent Self Serve. I look forward to meeting each of you at Open House from 5-7pm on Thursday, August 31. Sincerely,
