Procedures

behavior We will follow a behavior chart system 1st action- verbal warning 2nd action- name on board 3rd action- checkmark: lunch detention and email home 4th action- second checkmark: afterschool detention and phone call home

ATTENTION GETTER CLAP ONCE IF YOU CAN HEAR ME CLAP TWICE IF YOU CAN HEAR ME *I should NEVER have to clap 3 times* RAISE YOUR HAND if you need my attention- do NOT walk up to me. I will have you sit back down until you raise your hand.

Warm-up/entering class Come into class QUIETLY and take your seat Write agenda/homework in planner Complete warm up- directions will be on the whiteboard Warm-ups are a GRADE EVERY SINGLE DAY

notebooks Must bring notebook to class EVERY DAY Notebook checks/ stamp sheets due every 3-4 weeks (no notebook, no grade) (binder not accepted) ASSIGNMENTS MUST BE ON CORRECT PAGE FOR CREDIT. If you are absent, make sure your notebook gets updated ASAP! If you are absent for a notebook check, talk to me next class period about making up your notebook check. Leave textbook at home

supplies Colored pencils & markers will be in bins for you to use for notes, drawings, etc. Must check out stapler/scissor bins with an ID card Once all supplies are returned in your group’s bin, you will get your ID card back

Pencils You must sharpen your pencil BEFORE class starts (first 5 minutes) Bring a pencil every day. If you do not have a pencil, ask a neighbor to borrow one.

Late work Turn late work in to “Absent/Late” bin You will receive up to 70% credit Will NOT be graded until on time work has been graded

Make-up TESTS/Homework help During lunch Mondays OR Tuesdays

END OF PERIOD The bell does NOT excuse you Your desk and floor area must be COMPLETELY clean before I excuse you Return ALL borrowed items to Miss Arkelian Once your area is clean, sit and wait to be released You are released by group (hold your team members accountable) Push chairs in neatly Per. 6 & 7- Stack chairs at the end of the day (by GREEN wall)

Tardies/absences 1st Tardy: Warning 2nd Tardy: Parent email 3rd Tardy: Lunch Detention 4th Tardy: After school detention 5th Tardy: SRC Absences: It is YOUR job to find out what you miss when you are absent. Talk to me AFTER class and check the “Absent Work” bin. Turn absent/late work in to the “Absent/Late” work bin at the front of the classroom.

Dress code I expect you to come to class in dress code EVERY DAY. I will send you to the SRC if you are out of dress code. What are some examples of things out of dress code?

bathroom policy You may go to the bathroom any time…… EXCEPT FOR: the first and last 10 minutes of class; during an exam Raise your hand, ask, sign out on the sign out sheet, and take a pass One person at a time Misuse of this privilege will result in consequences

Phone policy Phones and headphones are NOT allowed unless Miss Arkelian says otherwise!!!! Visibility of PHONE OR HEADPHONES will result in a DIRECT referral to the SRC unless permitted.

Take out your phones If you do not have a phone or wish to work together, work with your neighbor. (insert kahoot) MUST USE YOUR FIRST NAME OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED/GAME WILL STOP IMMEDIATELY TOP 3 WINNERS: LIFESAVERS
