Class Policy

Attendance Policy Students must come on time. Students are expected to attend all sessions. Tolerance for emergencies: 15%.

Late coming (Tardy) Policy Walk in quietly making as little noise as possible. Sign-in at the Tardy Sheet. (Name, date, time) Join the activity in progress. If you don’t know what the class is doing raise your hand until the teacher sees you. If you come after 15 minutes, you are considered absent, but you can still join the class.

Absent Policy Notify the lecturer in advance whenever possible. In case of emergency, as soon as you can handle the emergency, notify the lecturer . Submit the absent permit (signed by the related authority) when you return from an absence. Make-up any assignments or tests in a timely manner when you return from an absence (take time to arrange with the lecturer with regards to the schedule).

Using Electronic Devices All cell phones, smartphones, and other electronic devices must be turned off (or on vibrate mode). NO use of any electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, iPads, smartphones, laptops, etc.) allowed during exams and other graded in-class assignments. Laptop and tablet computers and computers are allowed for (quiet) note taking only (other activities such as checking personal e-mail or browsing the Internet are prohibited).

Restroom Policy 1 student at a time may go to the restroom during any given period. You may go to the restroom only if: a) you have finished all of your assigned work b) the class is working on Individual Seatwork

Class Participation Policy Participate actively and respectfully in all class activities. Work within the allotted time. If you finish all of your assigned work early you may a) read independently b) work on the next assignment. DO NOT TALK OR DISTURB OTHERS.

Leaving the room policy Be sure you have finished the assigned work. Come and talk to the lecturer to ask for his/her permission. Come back as soon as possible Continue the assignment (or make up the missing assignment and continue with the new one)

Class Announcement Policy Access Announcements on moodle (learning blog) or from the class chair person. Read until you understand the announcement. If you have questions, confirm with the class chair person and or the lecturer .

Assignment Policy You will submit assignments only when the lecturer asks for them. Make sure the assignment has your full name, period number and date. This should be on the top left corner of your paper. Submit early or on-time. Pay attention to the deadline of submission. Late submission will get reduction in the grade (5% per day).

Using Internet Policy Students may use Internet access, only for teacher-directed educational activities. Students may use Internet access only when authorized. Access the sites directed by the lecturer .

Ending the day policy Finish all assigned tasks. Clean and tidy up your desk and the area surrounding your desk. Be sure not to leave anything behind. End the class with a prayer.

Dress code policy Come to class when you meet the dress code policy issued by your department.

Passing grade policy A minimum of final score of C- (56)

Test Policy No cheating and plagiarism – consequence for cheating and plagiarism: FAIL the course. Bring KSM No talking with other students during the test Students who do not meet the 85% attendance will not be allowed to take the Final test.

Classroom Behavior Policy Participate actively in all activities Finish all activities within the allotted time Respect other people’s opinion When someone is talking, listen Ask permission whenever you want to leave the classroom for any reason
