REAL-TIME ANALYSIS DEMO: THE ELMO DASHBOARD After this slide, instructor will show ELMO site to trainees

The ELMO Dashboard The Dashboard serves as the “home” view of the ELMO interface Access the Dashboard from any location in ELMO by selecting the ELMO logo

The ELMO Dashboard The Dashboard is comprised of four features Latest Responses Summary of Activity Response Locations Dashboard Reports

The ELMO Dashboard Latest Responses This section allows you to view incoming responses in real-time Clicking on any row’s data will take you to view all the answers for that submission of the form

The ELMO Dashboard Summary of Activity Summary displays the number of responses submitted in the past week, in total, and which have not been reviewed Top Forms will indicate which forms have the most associated responses Low Activity will indicate which observers have submitted relatively few responses This is a convenient quick view of people who might need a little extra help! Only observers are represented.

The ELMO Dashboard Response Locations This feature will map the locations of responses based on answers to Location type questions A icon is displayed for each form submission with valid coordinates

The ELMO Dashboard Response Locations Zoom in and out or move the map center by using the controls on the right side of the map feature

The ELMO Dashboard Response Locations Select a point on the map to see its relevant form information. Response #, Form, User/Team, and Submission Time Review the contents of any location’s response by selecting a point on the map and then clicking View Response

The ELMO Dashboard Dashboard Reports The Dashboard Reports feature allows to review reports alongside other Dashboard features Reports are updated in real-time as data is submitted by observers Tip: You can build reports in advance of collecting any data, and watch them change dynamically!

The ELMO Dashboard Dashboard Reports Quickly navigate between previously created reports by selecting Choose a Report and then selecting one from the dropdown menu

Questions? Before we continue, Pause here to ask if anyone has any questions

Reviewing & Cleaning Responses There are two ways to review a response: From the Dashboard (for recently submitted responses) From the Responses menu (for all responses)

Reviewing & Cleaning Responses Review a response from the Dashboard (recent responses) Select the response from Latest Responses Select a response by clicking on its row, not the links for form or user (which will take you there). For example, click around either the Submission Time or the status for Reviewed?

Reviewing & Cleaning Responses Review a response from the Dashboard (recent responses) Next, select Edit this Response This will make all answer fields in the response editable

Reviewing & Cleaning Responses Review a response from the Responses menu (for all responses) Click Responses to view the list of responses submitted by observers Then select the icon on the response row to edit

Reviewing & Cleaning Responses Under Edit Response Change or clean any erroneous answers as appropriate Learning how to identify irregularities or errors may require some communication and agreement among the observer team

Reviewing & Cleaning Responses Once the review is complete, leave the name of reviewer and date in the Reviewer Notes if applicable, mark the box next to Reviewed? and save it OR Select Save and Mark as Reviewed

Questions? Before we continue, Pause here to ask if anyone has any questions

The search feature When searching for data, operators and qualifiers can be useful tools for locating specific information within Responses, Questions, Users and SMS views

The search feature Example Operators AND operator: default operator, Matches when both of its arguments match OR operator | : Marches when any of its two arguments match NOT operator != : Matches when the first argument matches, but second does not* Example voters ballots stations : voters AND ballots AND stations voters | ballots | stations : voters OR ballots OR stations voters ballots != stations : voters AND ballots NOT stations

The search feature: NOT operator When using the NOT operator, != will be used most of the time. However, when searching for text or long text responses in the Responses tab, the symbol - can be used as well. ‘!= ballot boxes’ means NOT ballot boxes, but ‘- ballot boxes’ means NOT ballot AND boxes (so, results that have boxes but not ballots)

The search feature Operators Grouping operator (): denotes the argument boundaries Phrase operator “ ”: matches when argument keywords match an exact phrase Example (voters | ballots) stations : first, search for all the results with ‘voters OR ballots’, then search within those matches ‘AND stations’ “voters ballots stations” : search for any results where ‘voters’, ‘ballots’, and ‘stations’ all appear in that order and appear right next to each other.

The search feature Qualifiers Menu Qualifiers Responses form, submitter, submit-date, reviewed, source, text Questions code, title, type, tag Users name, login, email, phone, group SMS content, type, username, name, number, date, datetime

The search feature Need more help or reminders? The Search Help feature provides information on the qualifiers, operators, and combinations that can be used to search for specific information within the current area.

Questions? Before we continue, Pause here to ask if anyone has any questions

Creating a Tally Report You can tally, or total, Answers per Question or Responses per Answer

Answers per Question Say: Will list whatever questions are chosen in a table or bar chart and count the number of times a particular answer was given; say codes are being used in place of question names and that these will be explained in a few slides This lists the number of times a particular answer was given for each question.

Responses per Answer Say: Will cross-tabulate answers from two questions; explain that 50% of East choose Good, or a similar example. This lists the number of times a particular combination of answers was chosen.

Creating a Tally Report Tally Reports can be Tables or Bar Charts
