8 Reporting Home Screen Reports
Your access point for all Insight reports. The folder structure is the same, but now you can quickly access any report or category of reports from any screen. Attendance Dashboard provides... 1) Role-specific overview of your classroom/center(s)/ caseload 2) Trend data 3) Hotspots Most Popular Not sure where to start? 11 Generating a Report Reports Navigation You can click on any level of the reports menu to view all relevant reports. Hovering over any report title causes a description of the report to appear.

12 Generating a Report Filters Breadcrumb
Filters allow you to narrow down the information included in the report. Depending on your user type, your program, center, classroom and/or family advocate filters may be pre-selected to match your Insight access. Breadcrumb The breadcrumb shows the report you’re on and provides links back to that report’s subcategory or category, as well as to All Reports. Under the breadcrumb, you can see when new/updated data was last pulled from Shine Insight. Report Description Here you’ll find a brief description of the report, including field names and suggestions for use. Schedule Is this a report you run regularly? If so, use the Report Scheduler to set this report to to yourself and/or colleagues on a recurrent basis, according to the parameters you provide. Export If you’d like to view or manipulate a report outside of Insight, click Export to download a PDF or Excel (.xls(x) or .csv) version. Generate Once your filters are in place, click the Generate button to load the report on your screen.

13 Exporting Reports Best for printing!
Report Stats All exported reports display the date & time on which the report was run, the user who ran the report, as well as all the filter options selected (or not). Formatted data, best for simple manipulation for sharing Unformatted data, best for deeper analysis

14 Report Contents Report Fields
The field names appear in the green header row across the top. Any fields that are automatically sorted will have a  or  to indicate the direction of the sort. Scrollbar For reports with many fields, use the scrollbar to view the full contents of the report. Page Navigation Use the single arrows to go forward or back one page. The double arrows will bring you to the first or last page.

Click on a child’s name in any report to access his or her Shine Insight page.

19 Customizing a Report Column Filters
Use this feature to apply an additional filter on the information in this column. Column Sort Click the Up arrow to sort Ascending (A>Z) and the Down arrow to Descending (Z>A) Column Width Click and drag the triangle to widen or narrow the column. Column Format Click formatting to apply various options to the column, including font style, size and color and conditional formatting. Click Hide column to hide.

20 Customizing a Report Basic Formatting
Change the font type, size, color or style or text alignment of the whole column. Fill with the column with the color of your choice. Conditional Formatting Add emphasis with color or style to certain data in the column.

21 Customizing a Report Schedule
Indicate how often you want the report to be ed. Output Options Choose the file format(s) you prefer - .csv, .xls(x) or .pdf Parameters Set your report filters – these filters will be automatically applied every time the report runs Notification Enter the addresses for anyone you want to receive the report. Set up a “job notification” if you want an additional that tells you whether the report ran successfully.
