Having good Nutrition helps us to live a healthy, happy life! What is Nutrition? Definition: Nutrition is a scientific study of food and drink (especially in humans). Having good Nutrition helps us to live a healthy, happy life!

What is meant by Good Nutrition and Bad Nutrition? Eating three healthy meals a day. Making sure your body gets the correct amount of “good” calories needed for everyday living. Eating correctly: everything in moderation is the key!!! Having a regular exercise plan or sport to keep your body physically fit.

Cont. Bad Nutrition Not eating proper meals. Snacking on junk food/ fast food all day. Being inactive Eating too much sweets and chocolate.

Health Effects caused by Bad Nutrition Heart Problems: Your resting Heart Rate will increase meaning that it has to work harder to pump blood round the body as needed. Bad Eating causes many problems such as lack of sleep, mood swings, stress, fatigue, feeling like you can’t be bothered doing anything, and the list goes on…

What does your body need to have good Nutrition? Five servings of fruit and vegetables daily (good source of Natural Sugars and Carbohydrates). Protein: The main source is meat and dairy products, but also nuts and beans are very natural sources of protein. The body uses protein for the rebuilding of muscle tissue, for example, after you lift weights at the gym, your body will use it’s protein stores to help repair the damaged muscles. Carbohydrates: This is the main source of food that your body need as from Carbohydrates is where we get all our energy sources. However, Carbohydrates need to be watched, if you are an athlete or even always on the go you will need more Carbohydrates than the average person with a desk job.
