How to Compute GPA (Grade Point Average) Use the scale to assign quality points to each grade. Add up all of the quality points to get the total. Divide total quality points by the total number of attempted credits. Compare this number to corresponding letter grade. Highest Unweighted GPA is 4.0 Academic Honors AP/IB A = 4 A = 4.5 A = 5 B = 3 B = 3.5 B = 4 C = 2 C = 2.5 C = 3 D = 1 D = 1.5 D = 2 F = 0 F = 0 F = 0
