5 Doral Academy Diploma options
Advanced Honors Diploma (Class of 2020 ONLY) fulfill Advanced Diploma requirements and the prescribed Honors/AP/IB classes, and 3.25 GPA without bonus points and 3.85 GPA with bonus points College and Career Ready Diploma fulfill the new Nevada requirements, requiring student be prepared for college and the workforce Advanced Diploma fulfill standard graduation requirements plus additional credits and required 3.25 GPA with out bonus points Standard Diploma fulfill (new) standard graduation requirements, 23.0 credits Grade Point Average (GPA) is determined by finding the grade average of all coursework on the student transcript on a 4.0 scale

6 VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUATORIAN
VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN Identification of Valedictorian(s) and Salutatorian(s) Valedictorian(s), student(s) with the highest grade point average (GPA weighted with Bonus Points) in the graduating cohort, and Salutatorian(s), students with the second highest grade point average (GPA weighted with Bonus Points) in the graduating cohort, will be identified as candidates at the end of the fall semester of their graduating year. Final Valedictorian(s) and Salutatorian(s) will be determined based on the completion of all high school credit course work. Students will be considered “Candidates” until final second semester grades are posted.

7 Honors Program Advantages of the Honors Course Offerings
Most competitive colleges and universities consider not only students’ grades, but also academic background evidenced by courses listed on the student transcript, letters of recommendation from teachers and counselors, and SAT or ACT scores. Enrollment in the College and Career Ready Diploma course work will assist students in the preparation for college entrance exams. The Grade Point Average (GPA) weighted with Bonus Points is used when determining ranking in the class. Weighted Honors Courses Students will earn a weighted grade point factor for successful completion of Honor and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The weighted GPA for the Honors Program for students will be added as follows: Honors Advanced Placement

10 College and career ready diploma (cont’d)
Proficiency in two languages, or two (2) units in AP courses, dual credit courses, CTE courses, Work-based Learning courses, or a world language course and: One or both of the following endorsements: College-Ready Endorsement for students that successfully complete a college readiness assessment, and not receive less than remedial scores for initial (non-remedial) placement into college-level English and mathematics. Career-Ready Endorsement for students that successfully complete the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)-level Silver or above, or successfully complete the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)-score 50 or above, or obtain a Career and Technical Education Skills Attainment Certificate, or obtain a credential on Nevada’s Industry-Recognized Credentials List (OWINN).
