Welcome! SWMS 8 th Grade Mathematics Ms. Hamilton

Classroom Expectations Be in your assigned seat before class begins. Follow directions the first time they are given. Bring all books and materials to class. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak. Be respectful of everyone in the room.

Bell Ringer There will be a bell ringer assignment each day on the front Eno board. Please complete this individually as soon as you sit down. I will provide you with a Bell Ringer sheet that you must keep in your binder until it is full.

Agenda Please read today's agenda on the front board. Write any assignments and/or upcoming projects/tests in your student agenda.

I Can... Statements Check out the bulletin board at the front of the room to find today's goal as well as the current unit's goals.

Pencils If you need to sharpen your pencil, please SILENTLY RAISE (notice I did not say wave, throw, etc.) your pencil in the air. When I give you a nod, you may get out of your seat to sharpen it.

Student ID Number Everyone will be assigned a number. Please place this number in the top right corner of every assignment. This number will also be your assigned calculator's number.

If you finish an assignment early, Work on your math homework first. If that is complete, study for the upcoming test. And if all else fails, read a book!

Calculators Please make sure you return your assigned calculator to the caddy before the end of class. No one leaves the room until all calculators are replaced.

In/Out Boxes Pass papers ACROSS each row to the RIGHT. Then each person in the right column pass the papers FORWARD. The person in the front right seat will turn in all papers to the correct box.

Student Bookshelf The bookshelf next to the Make-Up Work folders is just for you! It is complete with extra paper, books, and other resources. Feel free to borrow paper (in an emergency), but please ask before taking anything else.

Make-Up Work When you are absent, 1. Ask me about your missed assignment/activity the first day you return. 2. Check the hanging folder to see if you have an assignment. Folders are labeled by class period, and your work will have your name on it.

My Mailbox If you need to ask or tell me something and did not have time during class, please leave a note in my mailbox.
