GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS English (4 units) I, II, III, and IV Math (4 units) CC Math I, Math II, Math III and 1 additional math Science (3 units) Earth/Environmental, Biology, and either Physical Science, Physics, or Chemistry Social Studies (4 units) World History, Am. PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS To be promoted to the sophomore class, you must pass 6 units. APEX courses are available to help students who are deficient. See your counselor or Mr. Gorham for details. REGISTRATION SHEET - FAQS? Honors and AP courses require a teachers’ recommendation to take the class. You must have your teacher sign the form in order for a counselor to register you for that class. You and YOUR PARENTS need to sign the form before bringing it to the Media Center on the day you are to register. 7 March 2016 RISING SOPHOMORE REGISTRATION

TEACHER APPROVAL IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR YOU TO REGISTER FOR THE FOLLOWING COURSES: GET FORM SIGNED BEFORE YOU REGISTER. 1.Any Honors or Advanced Placement course. 2.Any second level course that requires it (very few of these). 3.Any course requiring an application (ex. APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE: Yearbook Applications (outside Ms. Hylton’s classroom) You must take Yearbook all year in order to be on the Yearbook Staff. Do not sign up for the course until you get a signature from Ms. Hylton). HONORS CLASSES Students will only be allowed to take honors courses if they meet two of the three following criteria: 1.Teacher recommendation from the subject area teacher 2. REQUIRED TESTS All sophomores are required to take the PLAN. This is a shortened ACT and tests reading, writing, math and science. All juniors are required to take the ACT. This is a college and career readiness test. It serves the same purpose as the SAT. Students are eligible to send these scores to colleges for admission purposes. Students who have completed a CTE Pathway MUST take the Work Keys Exam during their senior year. Scoring high on this exam looks good to potential employers and will receive school recognition. 19 March 2016 RISING SOPHOMORE REGISTRATION

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR REGISTRATION Registration begins March 14 th and ends March 18 th. It will be done by grade level and you will be called to the Media Center to register. Rising Sophomores will register on March 17 th and 18 th. 20 March 2016 RISING SOPHOMORE REGISTRATION

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: BRING YOUR REGISTRATION SHEET COMPLETELY FILLED OUT ON THOSE DATES! You will receive your schedules at the end of the summer. Dates for schedule changes will be the 2 nd week of August. We do not call for schedule changes at the semester break in January! WHAT DO I NEED TO DO NOW? In between now and March 17 th you need to: 1.Choose your classes 2.Get teacher signatures for Honors courses and other required courses. 3.Obtain and complete all needed applications and or contracts for classes. 4.Have your parent to sign your registration form and YOU sign your registration form. 5.BRING THE FORM TO SCHOOL ON THE 14 TH AND 15 TH ! 22 March 2016 RISING SOPHOMORE REGISTRATION
