Atoms Away! You will research the development of Atomic Theory by viewing a Prezi. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Watch the Prezi about Atomic Theory by clicking on the following link: 2. You will create a six-flap foldable that will contain two note facts about each scientist involved in the discovery of atomic theory. Also include the year their most famous discovery was made. This task uses: Laptops Learning Objective(s): Student will develop an understanding of atomic structure through exploring various atomic theories. 2 A Time for Atoms Use your research from the Prezi (in foldable) to create a timeline on the development of Atomic Theory. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Log in to your assigned laptop. Click on the following link: Add your student nickname and the project title. Click start. Double click on the timeline to insert a picture and information. Click the check mark. Continue process until you have added all six scientists and their discoveries. Don’t forget to add the year. You may need to drag and rearrange your information on the timeline. Click finish then save final. Click save again and save it to the desktop. This task uses: Laptops Timeline app by Read/Write/Think Learning Objective(s): Students will apply atomic theory research to create a timeline. Click on the tab titled Atomic Structure. Click on the web link Padlet. Click on the plus sign and write your nickname then add your timeline that is saved on your desktop. View at least one other timeline. Develop and post a question about one of the scientist or events on the timeline. Don’t forget to include your nickname. This task uses: Laptops Padlet Learning Objective(s): Students will share their timeline by posting it on Padlet. View another timeline and create and post a question. You will create an movie and post it on Padlet. Then give feedback on two other movies. Film your group rolling the marbles under the boards. Have one or more group members explain their drawing and how it relates to Rutherford’s discovery of the nucleus. Use the sync cord to load the movie on your assigned laptop. Go to Mrs. Dalovisio’s Blackboard. Click on the Atomic Theory tab. Click the web link Padlet Movie. Click on the plus sign and write your nickname then add your movie that is saved on your desktop to the Atomic Structure Movie link. View two other movies from other classes. Post comments and give feedback about the content. Avoid opinions like “good, bad…”. Be sure to include your nickname.
