1 Species are SPECTACULAR!!
Use iPads to view a Prezi presentation on an overview of ecosystems . SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Log into your assigned computer and open the Chrome browser. Click on the following link: Watch the following Prezi presentation and take notes in your quality folder. Take 5 minutes to review your notes. Get out a blank sheet of looseleaf for a short quiz. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Identify the levels of classification for organisms Differentiate between living and nonliving things in an ecosystem Differentiate between structural and behavioral adaptations Identify food chains and food webs TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Katy Daigle; School: SJ Welsh Louisiana State Standard: LS-M-C2: Analyze food webs to determine energy transfer among organisms LS-M-C3: Compare the levels of organization of living things within an ecosystem LS-M-D1: Differentiate between structural and behavioral adaptations in a variety of organisms Grade Level/Subject: 7th grade science Special Directions/Considerations: N/A Activity Evaluation: Short quiz to evaluate what they absorbed Prerequisites for students: N/A

2 ED-ucation on Relationships
Use iPads to view an Edpuzzle video on symbiotic relationships. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Log on to your assigned computer and open Google Chrome. Click on the following link to open up an Edpuzzle on symbiotic relationships: View the short video and answer the questions as they appear. At the end of the video, close the video link. On the paper, write a short summary, about 5 to 7 sentences, that summarize the content of the EdPuzzle video. Be sure to include your complete heading on the summary. Turn the summaries in to your class tray. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Learn what symbiosis means and symbiotic relationships Understand the differences between the three types of symbiotic relationships TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Katy Daigle; School: SJ Welsh Louisiana State Standard: LS-M-C4: Identify the various relationships among plants and animals Grade Level/Subject: 7th grade science Special Directions/Considerations: Teacher Edpuzzle account is required Activity Evaluation: Evaluate student summaries of EdPuzzle video for accuracy and comprehension Prerequisites for students: N/A

3 M Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!
Use an iPad to create a slide with three facts about your assigned word . MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable Go on the Safari app on the iPad Log into Blackboard After you are logged in, click on Ms. Daigle’s science course that you are enrolled in (top right hand side) Once you are on Daigle’s blackboard, click on the ‘Additional Resources’ tab Scroll down and clock on the SAMR1 link For your assigned group word, write 2 true statements and 1 false statement. After completion, go comment on two other groups slides Log off of blackboard when you are finished. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Familiarize the important vocabulary associated with species and ecosystems TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Katy Daigle; School: SJ Welsh Louisiana State Standard: LS-M-C2: Analyze food webs to determine energy transfer among organisms LS-M-C3: Compare the levels of organization of living things within an ecosystem LS-M-D1: Differentiate between structural and behavioral adaptations in a variety of organisms Grade Level/Subject: 7th grade science Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Check comments for understanding. Prerequisites for students: N/A

4 Add a title for the activity here.
Use an iPad to draw your new species and evaluate other classes. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable Open the Doodle Buddy app on your iPad. Name and draw your new species. After completion, screen shot your new organism. Open Safari, go to and log into Blackboard. Once you are on Ms. Daigle’s blackboard, click on the ‘Padlet’ tab. On your assigned hour, click on the plus button in the bottom right corner. Insert the photo of your new species and describe the 5 adaptations you incorporated for its survival. From there, click on the previous hour’s Padlet and critique your assigned organism. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Express my knowledge on ecosystems and species survival. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Katy Daigle; School: SJ Welsh Louisiana State Standard: LS-M-C2: Analyze food webs to determine energy transfer among organisms LS-M-C3: Compare the levels of organization of living things within an ecosystem LS-M-D1: Differentiate between structural and behavioral adaptations in a variety of organisms Grade Level/Subject: 7th grade science Special Directions/Considerations: Teacher will have to create a padlet for each hour. Activity Evaluation: Check critiques for understanding. Prerequisites for students: Be familiar with how species survive in an ecosystem.
