2 Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement
Online Tutorial Students will watch a edpuzzle video tutorial. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Follow the link below and watch the edpuzzle video. Answer the questions throughout the video. After watching video and answering questions throughout the tutorial, log into BB and take the quiz under Chemistry Content. This task uses: Computer Edpuzzle Blackboard Learning Objective(s): Write and name formulas for ionic and covalent compounds (PS-H-A2) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Angie Guidry School: Vinton High School Louisiana State Standard: Write and name formulas for ionic and covalent compounds (PS-H-A2) Grade Level/Subject: chemistry 11 Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students: must know element symbols and valance electron/ oxidation numbers

3 A Online Assessment Students will take a quiz using an ipod to access a Google forms assessment. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Obtain ipod and scan QR code. This will bring you to the online assessment. Take quiz This task uses: ipod Internet access QR app Google Forms Learning Objective(s): Write and name the chemical formula for the products that form from the reaction of selected reactants (PS-H-A2) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Angie Guidry School:Vinton High School Louisiana State Standard:Write and name the chemical formula for the products that form from the reaction of selected reactants (PS-H-A2) Grade Level/Subject: chemistry 11 Special Directions/Considerations: Teacher should create the quiz using Google Forms. Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students: element symbols and oxidation numbers as well as reactivity

4 significant task redesign.
M Virtual Lab Students will complete a virtual lab on product formation of various reactions using pHet. MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign. Open the Click the “Play with Sims”. Click the “Chemistry” link on the left hand side of the page, then “General Chemistry”. Click the “Build a Molecule” simulation. Press “Download” hard disk or “Run” for on-line interaction. Stay in the “Make Molecule” Tab Explore how to make bonds by dragging the atoms and placing them together. Once the bond is formed, you can break the bond by placing the cursor between the atoms. Once you build a structure, you can break all bonds (atomize the particle) by clicking on the blue square, next to the green “3d” toggle. Obtain worksheet to fill in on BB Discussion Board in pHet folder in chemistry tab. This task uses: Computer pHet Learning Objective(s): Write and name the chemical formula for the products that form from the reaction of selected reactants (PS-H-A2) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Angie Guidry School: Louisiana State Standard:Write and name the chemical formula for the products that form from the reaction of selected reactants (PS-H-A2) Grade Level/Subject: chemistry 11 Special Directions/Considerations: Students must have access to Blackboard Discussion Board to complete task Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students: element symbols and oxidation numbers

5 Stop Motion Chemical Reaction
Students will use a stop motion app and beads to demonstrate what happens during a double displacement reaction. Other students will write a balanced symbolic equation for their partners demonstration. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. Working with a partner, each student should use a stop motion app on the iPad and create a double displacement reaction using beads. Be sure to label the various beads. After creating video, partners will trade with each other and write a balanced symbolic equation for the others video. Provide feedback on the created video by making suggestions or modifications to the created video. This task uses: Stop motion app ipad Learning Objective(s): Write a balanced symbolic equation from a word equation (PS-H-A2) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Angie Guidry School: Vinton High School Louisiana State Standard:Write a balanced symbolic equation from a word equation (PS-H-A2) Grade Level/Subject: chemistry 11 Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students: element symbols, oxidation numbers, states at room temperature
