Teacher’s Name: Natanya Nonette GLEs and Standards Covered (Include Descriptions): Identify the basic structure and function of nucleic acids (e.g., DNA, RNA) (LS-H-B1) Task Overview Learning Objective(s) Suggested Technology Answer student-created questions related to prior tasks. TLW demonstrate critical thinking skills through discussion. Blackboard Product from M task Internet-connected device Participate in a group discussion about student-written video summaries from S task. TLW demonstrate proper knowledge through the creation of test questions. Summaries written in the S task Blackboard discussion board Review basic structure and function of DNA using a Kahoot game. TLW know the basic structure and functions of DNA and RNA. Kahoot Watch a video and write a summary. The student will know the basic parts of DNA Video on DNA and RNA REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. transformation MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign.. Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement
DNA You are to watch the videos and write a summary. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Log into Blackboard using your username and password. Click on Mrs. Nonette’s Blackboard site. Click on the Videos tab buttons. Look for the video titled “Why RNA is just as cool as DNA” and “What is DNA and how does it work?” Watch the videos and write a summary on each to turn in. This task uses: Videos Blackboard Internet connected device Learning Objective(s): The student will know the basic parts of DNA TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Natanya School: Washington Marion HS Louisiana State Standard: Identify the basic structure and function of nucleic acids (e.g., DNA, RNA) (LS-H-B1) Grade Level/Subject: 10th grade/Biology Special Directions/Considerations: Convert youtube video and then load to teacher’s Blackboard Activity Evaluation: Does the writing summary contain the information. A DNA/RNA Review basic structure and function of DNA using the Kahoot game. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Click on the Kahoot app to review the basic structure and function on DNA 2. Type in the code that is posted on the board. 3. Sign in with a nickname. 4. Wait for the teacher to begin the game. This task uses: Kahoot Internet Mobile device Learning Objective(s): TLW know the basic structure and functions of DNA and RNA. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Natanya School: Washington Marion HS Louisiana State Standard: Identify the basic structure and function of nucleic acids (e.g., DNA, RNA) (LS-H-B1) Grade Level/Subject: 10th grade/Biology Special Directions/Considerations: Teacher will have to create a Kahoot account that will allow students to play from their mobile devices. A link to the Kahoot to be used: Activity Evaluation: Review the score students made after playing the game. Prerequisites for students: Basic knowledge of DNA

significant task redesign.
M DNA/RNA Read your summaries from the videos watched in the S task, then collaborate to create at least three test questions. MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign. You and your group will read and discuss the summaries written for the S task. From the discussion, create three test based questions. Log into Blackboard using your username and password and click on Mrs. Nonette’s Blackboard site. Click on the discussion board titled DNA/RNA. Create a thread and post your group’s questions. This task uses: Blackboard Internet-connected device Summaries written in Task S Learning Objective(s): TLW demonstrate proper knowledge through the creation of test questions. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Natanya School: Washington Marion HS Louisiana State Standard: Identify the basic structure and function of nucleic acids (e.g., DNA, RNA) (LS-H-B1) Grade Level/Subject: 10th grade/Biology Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Look for post into discussion board and review of two other groups post. R DNA/RNA Log into Blackboard
Answer the collaborative student group-made questions on DNA/RNA. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. Log into Blackboard Click on the discussion thread titled DNA/RNA. Review 2 other groups questions and provide feedback to answer the question. Provide feedback as well. After reviewing feedback, revise your questions and reply to those who answered your questions to let them know if they were right or wrong.. Post final questions into the discussion board titled Final DNA/RNA test questions Review at least two other postings from a different class period. Provide feedback/suggestions to the relevance of the questions. This task uses: Blackboard Internet-connected device Products from the M task Learning Objective(s): TLW demonstrate critical thinking skills through discussion.
