2 Atomic Model PPT with Animated Videos
View the PowerPoint lesson about atomic structure which contains animated videos. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Click on the link provided. Take notes and watch the animated videos. Click on the PowerPoint to review. This Task Uses: PowerPoint presentation with embedded animated videos Blackboard Learning Objective(s): Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Samuel Dondapati, School: L C B Academy Louisiana State Standard: HS-PS1-1(PS1.A.2), HS-PS4-3(PS4.B.3), 8. Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) Grade Level/Subject: Chemistry 1 Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Active participation and note taking, 20 pts. Prerequisites for students:

3 Learning Electronic Configuration
Participate in an interactive lesson on electron configuration. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Login with given username and password to join the EdPuzzle class. Once you login, click on the Learning Electronic Configuration assignment Watch the video and answer the questions. This task uses: Edpuzzle Internet-connected device Learning Objective(s): Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Samuel Dondapati, School: L C B Academy Louisiana State Standard: HS-PS1-1(PS1.A.2), HS-PS4-3(PS4.B.3), 8. Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) Grade Level/Subject: Chemistry 1 Special Directions/Considerations: Teacher should have an edpuzzle account along with student logins before considering this activity. Link to video: Activity Evaluation: Each question carries 2 pts. There are 17 questions in the quiz. Prerequisites for students:

4 Interactive Atomic Model
Use an interactive atomic model to fill the atoms in orbital. MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign. Work with a partner and click on the link: Interactive atomic model Click on the Play button. Follow the instructions to build an atomic model. Look at the element and decided which orbital you have to use and start filling with electrons. Once complete, take a screenshot to print or share with teacher for grading. Each accurately completed model is worth 5 points. This Task Uses: Internet-connected device Annenberg Learner Interactive: The Periodic Table Learning Objective(s): Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Samuel Dondapati, School: L C B Academy Louisiana State Standard: HS-PS1-1(PS1.A.2), HS-PS4-3(PS4.B.3), 8. Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) Grade Level/Subject: Chemistry 1 Special Directions/Considerations: Students can work as partners. Use the Annenberg Learner Interactive: The Periodic Table found here: Activity Evaluation: Each model gets 5 pts. Prerequisites for students:

5 R Create a 3D Atomic Model
Collaborate, create, share and review a 3D atomic model using Sketch Up. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. As a group, create a 3D atomic model using Sketch Up. Be creative with the design. Once the model is created , the group will submit the model in the Blackboard discussion board provided. Once complete and uploaded, review other classmate models. Provide a positive comment and a suggestion for improvement to at least 3 posted in the discussion board. This task uses: Sketch Up Blackboard Learning Objective(s): Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Samuel Dondapati, School: L C B Academy Louisiana State Standard: HS-PS1-1(PS1.A.2), HS-PS4-3(PS4.B.3), 8. Analyze the development of the modern atomic theory from a historical perspective (PS-H-B1) Grade Level/Subject: Chemistry 1 Special Directions/Considerations: Sketch up is to be installed on school computers prior to this task Click on the link to download free sketch. Install the program and open the program. Select the template and design your 3D atomic model. Activity Evaluation: Creating a model 20 points, submitting in the blackboard 5 pts, making positive statements at least 4 get 5 pts. Prerequisites for students:
