+  Practices and competition schedules vary by team and will be posted on the kmvolleyball.com website and communicated by your coach and parent rep.  If school is cancelled due to inclement weather ALL practices will be cancelled  If you need to miss a practice, please contact your coach directly.  Arrive 15 minutes early. It is the player’s responsibility to get the nets up.  Please pickup kids on time, be respectful of the coaches time. Coaches will be respectful of yours by having them out on time.  Schedules for practice will not be perfect for everyone’s schedule.  Required practice gear:  T-shirt  Spandex  Kneepads  Tennis shoes

+  Arrive at the competition site early. Your coach will designate the time. Be dressed and ready to be on the court at that time.  Remember to bring all pieces of your uniform. We will have two uniforms this year. Please bring both.  Coaches are not responsible for kids at an event unless they are on the court. If you have to leave an event make sure another parent is in charge of your kids.  Your behavior as a player, official, or spectator influences others opinions of you, your team, and your club. Please be respectful at all times.  The main focus of competition days is to improve the teams volleyball skills.  At the events all girls will be expected to stay until the end, including when reffing.

+ Saturday, March 5 th & Sunday March 6 th Play one day & work the other Volunteers Needed for Krunch Committee. Contact Komet Volleyball board through website. Last year we played host to 76 teams. + Volleylights. 7 foot net. Specialty Shoes All 5 th Graders will receive 1 Jersey, 1 warm up, kneepads, backpack Be Very Supportive We are going to lose. We are going to lose badly. We force the girls to do three touches. Most teams don’t. We find other parts of the game other than the score to judge how we are doing. We celebrate small victories (first serve over, a bump, set, spike) Be patient, success will come. K-M Volleyball is successful for a reason. The score will be wrong, girls ref. Don’t yell. Events are for the most part all day. 8 am to approx. 4 pm. Kids will have their own camp (blankets, snacks, music) in facilities. Lots of bonding time. Serving is huge. Overhand vrs. Underhand. Any questions please ask Tim or Dave “Bleacher Talk” with people who only know half the information can have a negative effect on the program. If we don’t have the answers, we will find them.

+ Players are evaluated according to the following criteria : Skills Passing, setting, hitting, court movement, overall team play Team Needs/Positions Players Needs – best interest of the player to help them grow in the game of volleyball by getting quality touches, ample playing time, and team chemistry Players will go home after tryouts and a will be sent out from their coaches within 48 hours to ask the players if they are interested in playing for their team. Requirements for the team will be listed on the . We will bring in evaluators from out of the area to help with the evaluations. The evaluations are not perfect. Mistakes will be made but we will do everything in our power to run a fair evaluation.
